Ronisia
Ronisia is a genus of hymenopteran insects in the family of velvet ants. The scientific name of the genus was first validly published in 1858 by Achille Costa. Costa created this genus for Ronisia torosa from Italy, which he considered a new species. In reality, however, this turned out to be a variety of Mutilla barbara. Costa later dropped the genus name Ronisia himself and classified Ronisia as Mutilla. In 1899, William Harris Ashmead reclassified Ronisia as a genus in the family Mutillidae.
